If it is 1998 – you need a donor restyling dashboard. This dashboard must be coded to work on the CAN bus. And if it works in your car – then 3DMFD can be installed.
Mfd shows the fuel level that the ECU and cluster give it, this means that the fuel level sensor in the tank has a gradation from 3 to 53 liters and cannot show a fuel level of less than 3 liters and more than 53 liters.
In order to calibrate the upper value (53 liters), you must make changes to the dashboard eeprom using the DDE program.
To display reverse gear as a R in the gear indicator, you need to run a wire from the reverse gear (12 volt) wire to the instrument panel. See the instructions for which pin in your car model you need to connect.
Yes. However, if your car has a swapped DSG, you will need to make changes to the EEPROM of the instrument cluster.
- Select a different display type in the Shell program ( in the Screen setup tab)
- If this does not help, select the gamma (in the Screen setup tab – Gamma)
- If this does not help, replace the display.
If you see a white screen, your battery may be dead and the configuration may be out of order.
You need to connect to the Shell program and select a different display type. After you find the right display type, save the settings. Item 19 of the Config tab.

MFD displays information from the ECU, there is information about the real speed, the dashboard shows up to 100 km.h 5 km.h less, after 100 km.h 10 km.h less. This is done for the sake of safety, so that people drive more slowly.
You need Chinese KKL blue cable, VAG eeprom programmer, DDE program.
Next, you need to download eeprom from OEM dashboard and from the new dashboard to your computer. Then, using the DDE program, you must cross these two dumps and load the resulting (third eeprom) into a new dashboard using the VAG eeprom programmer program.
In order to display EGT data sensor correctly, you need a signal amplifier board – AD8495 ARMZ.
The point of this board is to increase the amplitude of the signal because the thermocouple sends a very weak signal.

You need to install a dashboard from a restyled model 2003-2004.
Encode the dashboard via VCDS in channel 60. More details in the instructions.
If after this the dashboard works in your car, then you can install 3DcolorMFD, but the fuel consumption will most likely not work.
If you have diagnostic mode enabled, at this moment the diagnostic bus (K-lines) is busy, working with 3D mfd.
In order to release K-line, you must open diagnostics with a list of blocks in the color screen menu.
At this point, the 3D MFD is disconnected from the K-line and you can connect to the VCDS.
3dMFD can display some data that is in the k-line, but not in the CAN bus.
For example, you want to display EGT, AFR or other data from the diagnostic bus.
To do this, 3dMFD is connected to block 01 – engine via k-line in auto diagnostic mode.
For this to work, you need to program which groups and parameters should be polled.
You need to connect VCDS and find the desired parameters, write down the groups and program them in the 3dMFD shell.
You must understand that the k-line is a slow data line and that it can only work with one device at a time.
Since your Fullfis has an internal menu and after removing the original display you will continue to operate blindly this Fullfis, that’s why you need to install a CAN bus message filter in order to filter these messages.
Since the cluster has an immobilizer inside, when replacing a cluster you need to bind the keys to the new cluster, for this you must have a blue KKL cable, cheap Chinese one. We can help online and make it.
